Current LIFL and History of Lincolnshire Intermediate Football League (LIFL) Est:1995

In order to provide a football competition for players under eighteen but outside the lower age of sixteen which normally ends Youth Status for players the founding members of LIFL formed this successful league and its cup competitions in 1995-6 season.

The late Steve Asher (former Secretary), along with Phil Teal (Chairman), our late Life President George Addlesee who passed away in 2016 aged 90 and life Vice Presidents Maureen and Steve Dennis were the mainstay members who we can thank for our present excellent league we all enjoy.

We have always been affiliated to Lincolnshire FA but still attract clubs from close by Nottinghamshire and North Lincs. We have two divisions this season North and South leagues and four Cup and Shield Trophies played around the County some at top professional club grounds.

We have 20 under 18 clubs but are always open to new and former member clubs to swell our ranks as one of the best competitions for Youths before they progress to senior open age soccer.

In 2014-15 season we started a new Under 21 League and hope to progres with this age group in years to come with the herlp of our local county FA.

The pathway to adult and senior football is now via U17/U16 to under 18 and follow on to Under 21 mid week during the transition to more senior levels or simply adult recreational football.

In Feb 2016 we added to this section a power point presentation delivered to new clubs and team as an introduction to LIFL U18 league.
