Chairman's Message ahead of new season

By Club Man

Starts this weekend

Welcome everyone to what will be the twenty-fifth year of the Lincolnshire Intermediate Football League.

It was at the end of the 94-95 season that Management Team, Steve and Maureen Dennis considered what to do with themselves. They had just completed six years bring their team through the Mid-Lincs age groups and realised that their Club had no place for an extra senior team.

So, they approached Club Committee member, the Late Steve Asher, and together formulated a plan to bridge the gap between junior (at that time under 16s) and senior Sunday league football. The idea of an Intermediate League was discussed and came to fruition for the following 1995-96 season. I was invited to become Treasurer, a job I have undertaken until this day, albeit in the early back of the envelope days, with less actual involvement.

We enter this season with two leagues, The Premier and the County League, both of which I am sure will continue to provide competitive action for those involved. Our three cups will give the chance for the leagues to merge and will end in Finals at prestigious grounds around the County.

The LIFL committee is very experienced, able and ready to help you to have another excellent season. All we ask is that you help us and respect our decisions.

Welcome to all, whether regulars or newcomers to this age level, enjoy the season with us.
